Deck and railing renovation of a Bongossi bridge in Donrath
Description
In September 2014, we carried out the main inspection, which was due to take place on the 70 m long cable-stayed bridge of Bongossi wood. After 25 years of service life, the entire building exhibits partial damage to individual components. However, despite the open construction, the extent of the damage has not yet advanced very far. The expected life expectancy for unprotected bridges is 30 years. A renovation of the most important pieces was carried out immediately, so that the bridge is again in an acceptable condition.
