Exceptional facade of a Louis Vuitton store in Accoya
Outer facade Louis Vuitton, Cancún Mexico
Description
Louis Vuitton’s largest store was opened in February 2013 in Cancun, Mexico. It impresses with a stylish and extraordinary façade made of Accoya glulam. The challenges faced by this façade design were high, as the design should reflect the brand’s style, while at the same time meeting the approval of the construction authorities in Cancun, where tornadoes often occur and high humidity is present. The customer was convinced that the use of Accoya glulam in the planned wooden façade is the best solution. It meets the highest quality requirements in terms of stability, insect protection and UV resistance. On this wood there is a guarantee of 50 years.
As one of the few companies worldwide to join Accoya, Schaffitzel Holzindustrie delivered the glulam to Mexico.
