Heavy load bridge over Autobahn 7
Truss Bridge in Sneek - NL
Description
The second Accoya glulam bridge was completed shortly after the Sneek I. It is slightly smaller than the first one but shares the same design and capacity.
The truss bridge in Sneek is one of the first buildings worlwide where Accoya wood is used as a structural material. The acetylated pine wood needs no further constructional wood protection. The biaxial curved shape of the carriers is a great innovation in timber engineering. The form of the bridge reminds of a Gothic arch and refers to the symbol of the city Sneek. The imposing building can endure 60 tons gross vehicles.
